CROFTGUN MIDNIGHT FIZZ AT TORWOOD
Fizz is the oldest stud dog on the premises. Out of the last of the Heronsflight line, his father, Teddy (The Great Pretender at Torwood) was exported to Canada in September 2005 and is now a Canadian champion. He is retrieving duck from the Pacific Ocean as though he has been doing it all his life. In obedience he finds three minutes sit/stay the greatest challenge.
Meanwhile Fizz is working well, being very easy to train, and hopes to continue running in working tests this summer. He is a willing and easy to handle stud dog, one of his litters producing 14 puppies. He is always well placed when shown as his structure is very sound and his movement free flowing. It is his length of coat that lets him down, though his fantastic personality changes many would be female puppy owners to males. He has that lovely melting expression that comes from a mindset that just wants to be with you and please you all the time.
Fizz is the one Flatcoat who lives permanently in the house and he loves all our visitors, as well as the Dachshunds who also live in the house. He puts up with all sorts of abuse from the pups who start their early lives in doors.

ARRISTOTTLE ATHOS AT TORWOOD
Athos, is maturing well being the tallest of our dogs. He sired his first litter when 18 months old and took to stud work as one would expect from a male of his line of descent, coming from some of the great Flatcoats of the past.
He qualified for Crufts at his first show, and has done very well being placed best gundog puppy at an all breeds Open Show as well as having many Best Puppys in Breed progressing to BOB's now he is older.
A late maturing dog he is an easy dog to live with and train for field work, he took to gundog training like a 'duck to water'. He gets on well with all the other animals on the premises as well as the other stud dogs. He is a joy to have around the place fitting in so easily with our busy home life, welcoming all our many visitors so enthusiastically when he is in the house, but settling back into the kennels when it is his turn to 'live out'. He has never yet produced a liver pup even when mated to a liver bitch, so we suspect he must be a pure black boy.

HUGO MY BOY AT TORWOOD
Hugo, our youngest stud dog (born Aug 08 2008), has now had his eyes and hips tested and we are thrilled that he has mated his first bitch doing so with all the aplomb of a veteran.

Our latest addition is shaping up well, and following in the lines of his illustrious father and grandfathers.
A dog who is well put together with an outgoing personality, already very bidable and learning fast about life with the family and hound pack.

BOLFOER LAD AT TORWOOD
Lad is our 'liver lout'.
A fantastic dark liver colour, he is a very workman like and powerful looking dog, having fantastic bone and substance, but not being 'overdone' in any way.
He has many 'best puppy' awards in 'any variety' classes as well as 'Best liver' in show at the NEFRA OS and many 'Best liver dog' awards.
Lad is an easy dog to handle at stud and is producing his beautiful colour as well as his sound breed type and construction, getting on well with our other stud dogs (Athos & Fizz).
His training is progressing as well as one would expect from his lineage, being a son of Jim's through Jones and Jack back to Ch Heronsflight Pans Promise, and the old Pewcroft line through Heronsflight Puff.
