         Herbie's kennel mate Maddy, (Torwood Madley Momentous), out of our Athos, has also been well placed at shows and will accompany Herbie to Crufts 2012.

                                                                                                      OLDER DOGS LOOKING FOR FOREVER HOMES

We occasionally hear of dogs who, for various reasons cannot remain part of their family and need a new loving home. Sometimes these little people can stay in their original homes until the right family come along, other times they come to stay with me and become part of our gang, as we always take in our own dogs, who are always part of our family, especially if they are sired by our stud dogs. 

     At the moment we have Drummer (Torwood Ambassadors Earl at Venexia) an entire black fourteen month old youngster, by Athos, and our liver bitch, Rully. 
                        Startlingly obedient  in the recall and sit, walks to heel and retrieves to hand, he is looking for a forever home, with a companion dog.
                                                        He gets on well with all our other Flatcoats, Dachshunds and doesn't even chase our ducks!!!
                                            
                       We have kept his sister, who is showing a lot of promise, both in the show ring and in field training and we are very pleased with her.

If an older dog interests you or you don't feel you can cope with the demands of a new puppy but could give an older dog the love and attention, which will be amply returned, please contact me and I will help all I can even if we don't know of a suitable dog at the moment. You never know when people's circmstances change, and you can be owned by a loving Flatcoated Retriever.

Puppies who leave us are all vet-checked at 6 weeks and given their first Parvo-virus injection, as well as having an ongoing schedule or worming and insurance. They also leave  with a diet sheet and instructions about puppy care, as well as a substantial supply of the food they are already eating to help avoid tummy upsets when settling in with their new families.
